Where the Aegean Meets Its Most Glamorous Shore

A day charter from Mykonos is the shortest way to the islands the ferries skip — Delos and Rhenia to the west, and the southern bays when the meltemi is up.

This is a private charter, not a ticketed excursion. Each boat takes your party only, with professional crew, and the booking is handled end to end by a named broker. Aris Drivas Yachting has brokered Mediterranean charters since 1972.

The Mykonos day fleet

Where a Mykonos day goes

Delos & Rhenia

The archaeological island and its uninhabited neighbour, about an hour west. Rhenia’s bays are the swimming stop; Delos is a landing with a site ticket, arranged in advance.

The southern bays

Super Paradise, Agrari, Elia and Kalo Livadi — sheltered when the meltemi blows from the north, which is most of high summer. The standard shape of a Mykonos day.

Paros & Naxos

A longer run south for a full day aboard. Worth it on settled weather; your captain will say honestly on the morning whether the sea allows it.

Routes are indicative. The meltemi decides a Mykonos day more than any itinerary does — the captain sets the final route on the morning, for comfort and safety.

Questions

How much is a Mykonos boat tour or day charter?+

Private day charters from Mykonos start from around €1,700 for a smaller open boat and rise with size — a 20m+ motor yacht for the day sits in the €3,500–€4,500 range, and the largest boats in the fleet go well beyond that. That is the whole boat for your party only, with crew and fuel for the planned route, not a per-person ticket. Tell your broker the date and party size and we will quote the right boat.

Where do Mykonos boat trips go?+

The two classic shapes are west to Delos and Rhenia — the archaeological island and its uninhabited neighbour, about an hour out — and south to the sheltered bays at Super Paradise, Agrari, Elia and Kalo Livadi. On settled weather a full day can reach Paros or Naxos. The route is shaped with your captain on the morning rather than fixed in advance.

What is the meltemi, and will it affect our day?+

The meltemi is the strong northerly wind that blows across the Cyclades through much of high summer. It is the single biggest factor in a Mykonos day. It rarely cancels a charter, but it does decide the route — when it is up, the day runs along the sheltered southern coast instead of crossing open water. Your captain makes that call on the morning, for comfort and safety.

Can we land on Delos?+

Yes, but it is an archaeological site with its own entry ticket and opening hours, and private boats cannot simply tie up and wander in. Tell your broker in advance if Delos matters to you and it will be arranged as part of the day. Many guests cruise past Delos and swim off Rhenia instead.

Is VAT included in the day rate?+

Rates shown are the charter fee. Greek day charter carries 24% VAT, and fuel beyond the planned route, berthing away from home port and any Delos site tickets are quoted separately. Your broker gives you the full figure in writing before you commit — there are no charges introduced on the day.

How many guests can come?+

Most day boats are licensed for up to 8–12 guests cruising, depending on the boat, and the fleet here runs from an 11.7m open boat to a 30m motor yacht. Guests cruising and guests sleeping are different figures — a boat that carries twelve for the day may only sleep six. Tell us your party size and we will match the boat.

How much notice do I need to book?+

Mykonos in August is the tightest market in Greece — two to three weeks is comfortable for a peak weekend. Outside peak, a few days is usually enough, and same-day enquiries are answered within the hour during business hours.

What happens if the weather turns?+

We track the forecast for 48 hours before departure. If conditions are unsafe or materially below the experience you booked, we offer a date change at no charge or a full refund, your choice. A windy day that is still safe and comfortable on the southern coast is a route change, not a cancellation.

Other coasts, or a longer charter

Day charters run from several Greek coasts, and the same fleet is available by the week for a full Cyclades itinerary.
