About the yard

Bali Catamarans was launched in 2014 by the Catana Group, the French multihull builder founded in Cogolin in 1984, as a second brand aimed at a wider cruising market than the performance-focused Catana range. Olivier Poncin, who had bought Catana in 2003, oversaw the new brand's growth; after his death in May 2023 his son Aurélien took over as chairman and chief executive of the Catana Group, and Bali has become its main revenue generator, with output rising from around 15 boats a year at launch to roughly 350 today. Bali builds cruising catamarans in fibreglass across a range that now runs from the 12-metre Catsmart to the 22.5-metre Bali 7.0, with hulls produced across the group's four sites in France, Tunisia and Portugal. Its current flagship, the 17.4-metre Bali 5.8, launched in 2024 to mark the brand's tenth anniversary as the fourteenth model in the range, distinguished by a roughly 140-square-metre living platform that the yard reports as around 20% larger than equivalent-sized catamarans.
