In 2013 an ambitious project was conceived to restore the super yacht "Miss Danna", designed by naval architect Vincenzo Ruggiero and built by Bugari shipyard to her full glory, then man her to the highest standard so as to turn her into a point of reference in luxury yacht charters! Following the refit, the renamed Project Steel is a truly majestic yacht offering smooth and quiet cruising as she effortlessly traverses the Greek seas. In 2019 the project was continued with a full hull conversion including a 4 meter extension and a new vertical bow. The yacht is now state of the art even for todays standards as all new trends of naval design have been implemented in the hull. All new teak decks, all new exterior furniture and cushions and painting of hull and superstructer were also done bringing the yacht to ‘’as new condition’’. Where does PROJECT STEEL operate?+
PROJECT STEEL cruises Athens Riviera, Greece, Cyclades. Summer base: Athens. Custom itineraries are built around your preferences — contact Aris Drivas Yachting to plan a route.
Who built PROJECT STEEL and what are her specs?+
PROJECT STEEL is a 34m (112ft) motor yacht built by Bugari Shipyard (Bugari 112) in 1993, with a refit in 2020. Cruising speed 11.5 knots.
What is included in the charter rate for PROJECT STEEL?+
The weekly rate covers the yacht itself, her crew of 6, insurance, and use of the onboard equipment and water toys. Fuel, food and beverages, berthing and port fees, and shore excursions are paid from the APA, and VAT is charged on the base rate. APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is typically around 40% of the base rate, held by the captain and accounted for in full — unspent balance is refunded at disembarkation. Greek charter VAT varies by yacht and by charter, broadly between 5.2% and 24%, depending on the yacht's type, size and certification, the duration of the charter, whether it passes through international waters, and whether the yacht carries permanent professional crew. We confirm the applicable rate for PROJECT STEEL before you sign. Crew gratuity is separate and discretionary, customarily 10–15% of the base rate.
When is the best time to charter PROJECT STEEL?+
PROJECT STEEL charters from €49,000 per week in low season and €65,000 in high season — a difference of about 33% between the two. In Greece, July and August are peak: the most settled weather, the busiest anchorages, and the highest rates. Late May, June, and September offer warm water and quieter islands at the low-season rate, and are what we most often recommend. The meltemi wind is strongest in July and August across the Cyclades, which is worth weighing if sea state matters to your party.
