About the yard

Ocean Alexander is a Taiwanese motor-yacht builder founded in 1977 by Alex Chueh in Kaohsiung, in partnership with naval architect Ed Monk Jr. The company remains family-run, now under Alex's son John Chueh, with a shipyard in Kaohsiung and a US facility on Merritt Island, Florida, opened in 2016. The yard builds semi-custom fibreglass motor yachts across three series — Revolution, Legend and Puro — spanning roughly 25 to 40 metres, using vacuum-infusion hull construction adopted in 2004. The Puro series flagship, the 40P, measures roughly 40 metres and heads a range that also includes the smaller 30P and 35P.

Ocean Alexander's move into true megayacht territory came with the 120, a 37-metre launched in 2012 to an Evan K. Marshall design and built through a partnership with the American yard Christensen, trading Ocean Alexander's weight-saving construction know-how for Christensen's exhaust and systems engineering. The collaboration marked the Taiwanese builder's first sustained venture into the 35-metre-plus range its later Revolution series would build on.
