Panos G. Moraitis

Panos G. Moraitis is a maritime entrepreneur and the principal of Aris Drivas Yachting. He leads the firm’s charter, sales, and management operations from the Athens Riviera in southern Athens, working with owners, buyers, and charter clients across the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Indian Ocean.

His background, over a 29-year career in the maritime sector, is in marine engineering and operations. Before Drivas Yachts he worked in marine automation, shipyards, and engine systems, giving him the technical literacy that underpins how he runs the house today. He founded Gnomon Marine, focused on marine systems and environmental solutions, then founded and led Aspida — building it into an internationally active maritime and cyber security company operating across complex global markets. Under his leadership, Aspida was recognised with the Seatrade Cybersecurity Award, the Lloyd’s List Big Data Award (2017), and the Seatrade Middle East CSR Award. He was personally awarded the Propeller Club of the United States Amver Special Recognition Award for his work in maritime search and rescue.

Alongside these ventures he raced offshore with Optimum 3 Aspida, founded YachtPlus — a lifestyle business built around value-added services for superyacht charters in Greece — and has been involved in building software for maritime businesses.

Since taking over as principal, he has combined respect for Drivas Yachts’ 50-year heritage with a clear focus on modernisation: digital infrastructure, brand development, and a sharper client experience across charter and sales. Day-to-day, he is the house’s operational decision-maker, involved in every significant charter placement and yacht transaction.
