About the yard

Arno, based near Pisa on the Canale dei Navicelli, launched its first Leopard-branded boat in 1973 after decades building commercial and military vessels on the Arno river. The yard switched from wood to fibreglass in the early 1980s, and by 2007 ranked among the ten highest-selling superyacht builders by unit count. Production paused after the yard's peak years, and the Leopard brand was revived in 2021 under Seven Stars Marina & Shipyard. Leopard specialises in fast open motor yachts in fibreglass, generally between 20 and 34 metres, built for speed rather than long-range cruising, a different proposition from the semi-displacement customs common among Italian yards of similar size. The Leopard 27, with twin MTU engines and Arneson surface drives, is reported to reach around 40 knots depending on engine configuration. The larger Sport 34 model, at 34.11 metres, extended the same open-yacht format with triple MTU diesels and a reported top speed of around 40 to 45 knots.
