Riva began in 1842 when Pietro Riva started building boats on Lake Iseo, at Sarnico in northern Italy. The name became known worldwide for its mahogany runabouts under Carlo Riva, and since 2000 Riva has been part of the Ferretti Group.
The yard now builds fibreglass motor yachts and runabouts, from small day boats through to superyachts of around 50 metres and above.
The marque's heritage centres on the Aquarama, the mahogany twin-engine runabout produced under Carlo Riva from 1962, which became one of the most recognised pleasure boats ever built. The same lineage runs into the present line, where the wood-era styling is echoed in models such as the electric El-Iseo.
