Lagoon began in 1984 as the multihull division of Jeanneau and is now part of Groupe Beneteau, with catamarans built at Bordeaux, France. It launched its 7,000th catamaran in 2024.
The yard builds cruising catamarans in composite — both sail and power — from roughly 38 to 78 feet. The twin-hull format gives generous deck and interior volume, shallow draft, and steady motion at anchor and underway.
Its design follows a consistent three-way collaboration — naval architecture by VPLP, exterior lines by Patrick le Quément, and interiors by Nauta Design. The Lagoon 450, drawn by VPLP, became one of the most widely built models in the cruising-catamaran market, and Lagoon remains one of the most common names in the charter fleet.
