Eastern Mediterranean Yacht Charter

Greece, Turkey, and the Adriatic — the cradle of Mediterranean chartering.

Explore Eastern Mediterranean

The Eastern Mediterranean draws charter yachts for the same reasons it drew traders and emperors: sheltered water, short distances between ports, and a coastline that rewards slow travel. From the Dalmatian islands to the Lycian shore, this is a region where a week afloat covers more variety — in landscape, in cuisine, in culture — than most land journeys manage in a month.

Where three coastlines converge, every anchorage tells a different story.

The Charter Landscape

Three countries define the Eastern Mediterranean charter corridor. Turkey’s turquoise coast offers warm water, uncrowded bays, and the living tradition of the gulet — the wooden motorsailer that originated here. Croatia’s Adriatic islands combine Venetian architecture with clear, deep anchorages and a well-developed marina network. Montenegro, compact and less frequented, centres on the dramatic fjord-like inlet of Kotor Bay — one of the Mediterranean’s most striking natural harbours.

Together, they form a cruising ground where a single repositioning delivery can link all three countries in under a week, yet each rewards dedicated exploration on its own terms.

When to Charter

The primary season runs from May through October, with July and August at peak demand. June and September offer the best balance: settled weather, warm seas (24-27°C), and quieter anchorages. Turkey’s season extends slightly longer, with comfortable conditions into late October along the Lycian coast. Croatia’s shoulder months — May and early October — suit experienced charterers willing to accept cooler evenings in exchange for empty harbours.

What Sets This Region Apart

Choosing Your Destination

First-time Eastern Mediterranean charterers often start with Croatia for its infrastructure and familiarity, move to Turkey for warmth and solitude, and discover Montenegro as an unexpected highlight — a country whose coastline can be covered bow to stern in a long weekend, yet whose single bay rivals anything in the region for sheer drama.
